I’ve spent time giving back to the community and helping those most in need. I’ve also spent a lot of time talking to people in the community. Listening to their concerns. I know that people are worried about increase crime, high property taxes, local jobs, and transportation. I have a strong understanding of these issues and below are my main priorities. I want our city to be affordable, crime-free & safer place to raise our children. I have an immense passion for making positive change.
As past President of the Peel Regional Labour Council and the Chair of the Brampton Health Coalition, I have worked on many of the issues that matter to Bramptonians. Some of the campaigns I have been working on for families in Brampton are $15 and fairness, advocating for the LRT, Pharmacare and many other campaigns. I have worked with and lobbied the Federal, Provincial and Municipal governments to bring local concerns to the forefront.
This election presents the significant opportunity to Brampton voters to elect a council that will actually work for them. I’m competent, qualified, and ready to take on the responsibilities of being your next Regional Councillor for Wards 2 & 6. Having my own legal practice for the past four years has prepared me to advocate for my constituents responsibly. I intend to use this position to advocate for groups who are traditionally underrepresented in Council such as youth, seniors, and vulnerable groups. I promise to remain accessible to my constituents, to listen to their concerns, and help them as much as I can. I also want to include Brampton residents in the decision-making process by communicating with them through various media platforms and hosting town halls so that future changes directly benefit the people who live here.
Having served as a Student Trustee at PDSB and having the experience of working with students, parents, and staff sets me apart from the other candidates. I believe the Peel Board needs a young leader, someone who has been through Peel’s education system, and someone who has already shown dedication to improving Peel schools.
My vision is clear and is a product of my unique educational, employment, and community service experiences. I will passionately work for all students, parents, and the entire community. It is time to take concrete action for the betterment of our schools and I promise to take that action as a School Trustee. Vote Ashman KHROAD and let’s work together for the betterment of Peel Students
